Greenwood Village commercial real estate firm names new CEO

John Madden Co., a Greenwood Village-based commercial real estate developer, has announced that Blair Madden Bui has taken over as its CEO.

Madden Bui took the helm of the company last fall, but her new role was not publicly announced at that time.

She joined the company in 2011 and worked with company founder John Madden Jr., who will remain involved in the day-to-day activities of the company. His son, J. Madden, will serve in an advisory capacity as co-chairman.

"I have tremendous respect for the legacy of this company and the man who built it," Madden Bui said. "John Madden Co. has always been about developing and managing spaces that perform well for tenants and investors and add value to community. As CEO, my plan is to apply that approach to a new generation of developments with a particular emphasis on sustainability."

John Madden Co. was founded in the late 1960s and has developed more than 10 million square feet of commercial buildings and public spaces in Greenwood Village, including Fiddler's Green Amphitheater.

The company is expected to break ground on 500,000 square feet of new office development in Greenwood Village.

“Blair is an exceptionally bright, hardworking woman who is not afraid to take risks,” Madden Jr. said, “Family business is tricky; it doesn’t always work out that you find the right person to take a company forward, but our synergy is very heartwarming. I couldn’t have found a better person to take on the role.”
