Z Block development breaking ground in downtown Denver

Z Block, one of Denver's newest mixed-use projects, will break ground during a ceremony with Mayor Michael Hancock on Monday.

The development will be located along Wazee Street in downtown Denver between 18th and 19th streets and will include 235,000 square feet, including 100,000 square feet of office space and a172-room hotel managed by Sage Hospitality. In addition, Z Block will include 20,000 square feet of retail space and a 394-space parking garage.

San Francisco-based industrial real estate company Prologis has signed on to be the building's first tenant.

In addition to Sage Hospitality, Z Block is being developed by Loveland-based McWhinney and Grand American Inc.

The project is being developed on one of the last remaining full-block pieces of land in LoDo and is located near Union Station.
